Family-Friendly Wine Farms in Robertson

19 family friendly wine farms in Robertson: Van Loveren, Excelsior, Ashton, Viljoensdrift cruise — grape juice, play areas and Route 62 attractions.

If you're looking for family friendly wine farms in Robertson, the Breede River / Route 62 valley is one of the Western Cape's strongest outer-region options for kids. This guide covers 19 farms (11 with a fuller family offer, 8 with a limited one): Van Loveren's jungle gym and grape-juice pairing, Excelsior's dam-side play and horse feeding, Ashton Winery's jumping castle and kiddies juice pairing, Viljoensdrift's Breede River cruise with child pricing, and more. Most sit about 100 to 164 minutes from Cape Town without traffic — better as a long day or a weekend away than a casual Cape Town hop.

We've split the list honestly: fuller family offer first, then limited, then nearby attractions. We do not invent play equipment from tourism directories, and we keep river cruises and kids pairings scoped exactly as the audits state.

How we chose these farms

Every farm here was checked against its own official website in October 2026. We looked for play areas, kids menus, grape-juice or kids tastings, animals or farm life, picnics, casual food, lawns, and activities such as river cruises, fishing or trails.

  • Fuller family offer: at least one dedicated kids feature (play area, kids tasting or menu, animals, river cruise with kids pricing, or a clear family activity set) plus outdoor space or casual food. There are 11 of these.
  • Limited family offer: children are welcome and there's casual food, lawns or a small climbing structure — but no full kids' setup. There are 8 of these.

We skipped secondary-only claims unless the official site confirmed them. Please check before you go. Hours shift in winter, bistros close for weddings, and stay-guest amenities are not walk-in playgrounds. Our booking guide covers what to ask.
