Wine Farm Wedding Venues with On-Site Accommodation

Staying on the farm changes the whole wedding. Nobody has to drive after the speeches, you can get ready in a suite with a vineyard view, and a Friday welcome dinner and Sunday brunch become easy. This guide lists wine farm wedding venues with accommodation that you can verify on official estate pages: how many people each estate can sleep (where it says), what the wedding spaces hold and the prices published with their year.

How we checked this

Every venue comes from our Western Cape wine farm wedding audit (Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Constantia, Somerset West, Durbanville and Walker Bay), checked against official estate websites and wedding PDFs on 5 October 2026. A venue qualifies if the audit records on-site accommodation, and it hosts weddings (yes) or wedding-style celebrations (limited) backed by a source link. We give the room or guest count where the estate publishes one; where it doesn't, we say so. Prices are copied as published with the year; older prices are flagged. Packages, venue hire and room rates aren't comparable side by side. Elgin and the outer regions aren't covered yet.

Three ways estates handle accommodation

1. Accommodation is built into the wedding. You book the whole estate, rooms included, often for two or three nights. 2. Rooms are required with the venue. Some estates make you book a set number of rooms to use a space. 3. Rooms are available but separate. The estate has a hotel or cottages, and guests book them like any other stay.

Verified venues where everyone can stay

Whole-estate weekends with rooms included

Jordan Wine Estate, Stellenbosch. The complete takeover: exclusive use of the farm from Friday 16:00 to Sunday 13:00, with accommodation for up to 40 sharing in suites and The Villa, a pre-wedding dinner, the wedding with Chef Marthinus Ferreira's catering and Jordan wines, and Sunday brunch. Ceremonies are on the Water's Edge or Protea Lawn (up to 150), with a tented reception for 150. The high-season weekend package is R1 600 000 VAT inclusive (2026–7 brochure, as published by the venue); low season on request.

Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, Stellenbosch. A Cape Dutch national monument with a boutique hotel that sleeps up to 44, Valentina's Chapel and Clara's Barn for up to 80. The 2026–2027 brochure's Intimate Gathering package was from R203 696 for May to September 2026, with the Estate Affair from R464 384, VAT included (as published by the venue). Catering and coordination are extra.

Boschendal, Franschhoek. The estate says it can accommodate up to 216 guests. The Retreat package includes exclusive use of 18 two-bedroom cottages (72 guests), from R350 000 in low season (May 2026 to April 2027 packages, as published by the venue). Other Boschendal venues, the Olive Press and Rhone Homestead, have cottages nearby (about 30 sharing for the Olive Press), but their venue hire excludes accommodation.

Babylonstoren, Paarl. Every wedding package includes two nights in the two-bedroom Koornhuis cottage and the adults-only nine-bedroom Farmhouse. The Manor House (five bedrooms) and hotel rooms can be added. The Studio package is from R449 800 in low season (2026), and the Old Cellar package from R489 800 (2026), with food and drinks extra.

Plaisir de Merle, Franschhoek (Simondium). Seven Manor Homes host up to 28 guests, with the two-night exclusive estate stay at R50 000 on top of venue hire of R85 000 (2026, as published by the venue).

Zandberg Wine Estate (The Country Guest House), Somerset West. The wedding package includes accommodation for all 34 guests, the chapel ceremony, dinner and breakfast at 96 Winery Road, from R80 000 in low season (2025–2028 brochure).

Maison Estate, Franschhoek. Exclusive-use packages with Chefs Warehouse Maison catering and estate suites, with a three-night minimum: R371 000 low season and R495 000 high season (2025/2026, as published by the venue). Food, drinks, décor and a coordinator are extra.

Mont Rochelle, Franschhoek. Exclusively Yours takes over the Virgin Limited Edition hotel (and optionally the Manor House) with a two-night minimum, from about R382 550 per night in low season without the Manor (2025 brochure, as published by the venue). Weddings are up to 80 seated.

Rooms required with the venue

Lanzerac Wine Estate, Stellenbosch. A Jonkershoek hotel estate with 54 rooms. To use the Cellar Hall (R60 000) you book Block 1 and the Courtyard, 23 rooms; the Bedouin tent (R95 000) or marquee (R105 000) on the Manor Lawns for up to 250 requires all 54 rooms (August 2025 to July 2026 brochure, as published by the venue).

L'Avenir, Stellenbosch. Package 1 includes 11 lodge rooms (22 guests) plus the bridal suite for two nights, from R83 850 for May to September 2026 (R76 230 in 2025) (as published by the venue). Receptions are for up to 100.

Wildekrans Wine Estate, Walker Bay. All nine country cottages, sleeping 38, must be booked for a wedding (minimum two nights at weekends), which keeps the estate private. There's a chapel for 130 and the glass-house Harmonie reception for 140. Rates on request.

Brookdale Estate, Paarl. Events over 20 guests need a two-night Manor House booking: six double suites for 12 adults, with a private chef. Outdoor weddings take 60 to 80. Rates on enquiry.

Vrede en Lust, Franschhoek. On-site accommodation for about 40 guests. Small weddings at The Residence (up to 40) carry a three-night minimum stay plus the R24 000 venue fee (September 2025 to August 2026). The Vineyard Terrace seats 120.

Arcangeli Wines, Walker Bay. Four self-catering suites plus Room 5, from R1 495 per suite per night with breakfast, alongside weekend-exclusive venue hire of R25 000 (current functions page, undated; read 5 October 2026).

Estates with a hotel, lodge or cottages

Steenberg Vineyards, Constantia. A five-star hotel on the Cape's first farm. Exclusive lawn use requires the Manor House suite or Three-Bedroom Villa for the first night (per a secondary source, so confirm).

Silvermist Vineyards, Constantia. Boutique hotel suites and self-catering cottages, with 35% off rack rates and breakfast included for event guests. The Kraal takes 25 to 150.

Laborie Wine Estate, Paarl. A boutique hotel (Vineyard Suites, Werf Rooms and a villa) beside the Champagne Cellar, with hire from R38 000 (2027/2028, low season Monday to Thursday).

Nelson Wine Estate (Nelson's Creek), Paarl. Standard rooms, luxury suites, a family suite and a bridal suite, with four venues for up to 350.

Vondeling Wines, Paarl. The restored Farm House has seven en-suite rooms, beside St Clement Chapel and a reception venue for up to 100.

Joostenberg Wine Estate, Paarl. Kapokbos Cottage sleeps four at R2 700 a night and the Restio Room sleeps two, for courtyard weddings of up to 60.

Le Manoir de Brendel, Franschhoek. Ten suites and two cottages with a lakeside chapel and garden gazebo for intimate weddings.

La Petite Ferme, Franschhoek. About 10 suites for 20 guests (historic brochure figure) with the restaurant reserved exclusively; the live page cites celebrations up to 45.

Holden Manz, Franschhoek. A five-star Country House with five suites, river-confluence ceremonies and receptions for up to 120.

Franschhoek Cellar, Franschhoek. The Rose and Protea cottages sleep four each, next to seven event spaces.

Meerendal Wine Estate, Durbanville. A boutique hotel with a honeymoon suite package (R5 000, 2026), a rustic chapel and marquees for up to 180.

D'Aria Winery, Durbanville. Twelve self-catering cottages sleeping up to four each, for weddings from 60 guests.

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, Walker Bay. Thirteen villas, some with hot tubs, and venues from elopements to 300 on the lagoon lawn.

Stanford Hills Estate, Walker Bay. A historic Manor House (sleeps 11), cottages (sleep 5), Vineyard Villas (sleep 4) and glamping, with farm weddings for up to 100.

Boschrivier, Walker Bay. Five self-catering units sleeping 36 near Stanford, for small weddings of up to 100 (catering outsourced).

Foothills Vineyards (Klein Welmoed), Stellenbosch. Cottages for up to 24, with an exclusive-use barn wedding for 40.

Taaibosch Wines, Stellenbosch. Villas for 22 guests in 11 rooms in a private-estate wedding experience.

More Stellenbosch and Helderberg estates with rooms: Asara (hotel; packages include a night for the couple), Le Pommier (lodge; a bridal suite and groomsmen room on some packages), Spier (Spier Hotel), Vergelegen (Homestead and guest suites), Hazendal (hotel), Zevenwacht (Country Inn and cottages), Lyngrove (Country House, with weddings up to 300) and Morgenhof. Room counts aren't published on their wedding pages, so ask.

Comparison table

These prices aren't comparable: some include every bed and meal for a weekend, others are venue hire only.

Booking tips

• Ask for the exact sleeping count. "Accommodation on site" can mean one honeymoon suite or 50 rooms.
• Check minimum stays. Two- and three-night minimums (Boschendal Retreat, Maison, Mont Rochelle, Wildekrans, Vrede en Lust) change your budget and timeline.
• Clarify who pays for rooms. Some packages include them; others expect guests to book and pay.

Frequently asked questions

Which wine farms can accommodate all our wedding guests?

Jordan sleeps up to 40 sharing, Vergenoegd Löw up to 44, Boschendal's Retreat 72, Wildekrans 38, Zandberg 34 and Plaisir de Merle 28. Boschendal says it can host up to 216 across the estate.

Do we have to book all the rooms?

At some estates, yes. Lanzerac requires 23 or all 54 rooms depending on the venue, Wildekrans requires all nine cottages, and Brookdale requires a two-night Manor House booking for events over 20 guests.

How much is a wedding weekend with accommodation?

Published examples range from Zandberg's package for 34 at R80 000 in low season (2025–2028 brochure) to Jordan's high-season weekend at R1 600 000 (2026–7). Inclusions differ widely, so compare full quotes.
