Family Wine Tours in the Cape Winelands

Wine tours that work with children — timing and honesty about pace.

Last checked: 6 October 2026

Plenty of families do the Winelands together, and it works best when the day is planned around the children as well as the wine. A family wine tour in the Cape Winelands usually means a hop-on ticket with child fares, a private tour where you set the pace, or an outing with something extra for younger guests: an open-air tram, a game drive or a kid's seat on an e-bike. This guide lists tours that publish child prices or age rules, copied exactly from the operators' websites.

How we checked this

Every tour here was checked on the operator's official website on 6 October 2026. Child prices and age rules are quoted exactly as published, with the year. Where an operator says nothing about children, we say so rather than guess.

A note on drinking age: the legal drinking age in South Africa is 18, and estates won't serve wine to anyone younger. Many farms offer grape juice or non-alcoholic options. See sober and non-alcoholic wine tours.
