What you can do

Wine Farms with Dog Menus and Water Bowls

Verified wine farms that advertise dog menus, water bowls or similar pet amenities — thin list, audit-backed only.

Last checked: 6 October 2026

Searches for a wine farm dog menu are thin in the Western Cape. Only a handful of estates publish treats, pet menus or guaranteed water service. We do not invent bowls from Instagram photos. This is an honest shortlist, not a padded top ten.

How we check this

We only list farms where a farm page, FAQ or other reliable source confirms dogs are welcome, and we say where they may go. Policies change — phone or email ahead. For overnight units see pet-friendly wine farm stays.

Published dog menus and treat pairings

Groot Constantia (Simon’s) (Constantia)

Simon’s welcomes leashed dogs at designated outdoor tables, with water bowls and a dedicated dog menu (à la bark menu PDF dated October 2024). Estate grounds: dogs on leads.

Simon’s is the clearest restaurant dog-menu story near Cape Town: designated outdoor tables, water bowls and an à la bark dog menu PDF dated October 2024 (starters, mains and Jenny Morris dog biscuits described on the restaurant’s pet pages). Book outdoor seating and say you are bringing a dog.

Perdeberg Cellar (Paarl)

Official Doggy Pairing on the tasting menu: peanut butter dog treat with fresh mineral water for R25 (price seen October 2026 — confirm with the farm). Outdoor family seating fits leashed dogs; mountain-bike trails are not confirmed as dog-friendly.

Official tasting menu Doggy Pairing: peanut butter dog treat with fresh mineral water for R25 (price seen October 2026 — confirm with the farm before you visit). This is a tasting-counter pairing, not a full restaurant dog carte.

Stanford Hills (Walker Bay)

Pet-friendly stays (R250 per pet (official, Oct 2024)), Casa Cello covered terrace with a pet menu, and estate walking trails. No dogs at concerts/events.

Casa Cello covered terrace publishes a pet menu alongside human dining — useful when Overberg weather pushes you under cover. Remember: no dogs at concerts/events.

Market and water service

Lourensford (Stellenbosch / Helderberg)

Leashed dogs at Millhouse Kitchen outside seating, East Cafe outdoors, and the weekend Lourensford Market doggie bar. Indoor tasting-room access is not a published dog welcome.

Weekend Lourensford Market doggie bar plus outdoor seating at Millhouse Kitchen and East Cafe. Water and casual treats sit with the market energy rather than a fine-dining dog carte — still one of the few named doggie-bar experiences in Stellenbosch / Helderberg.

What we will not claim

We skip farms that only show a bowl in a guest photo. If the estate does not describe water or treats, pack your own collapsible bowl (what to pack). Many dog-friendly lawns will fill a bowl on request without printing a menu — ask politely, tip fairly, and do not assume every terrace has a hose ready.

How to use a dog menu without creating chaos

Order the dog item when you order drinks so kitchen timing works. Keep the dog settled beside the outdoor table, not in the aisle. Do not share human charcuterie unless staff invite it. If other guests’ dogs arrive, keep leads short and ask before introductions.

Closures that affect menu visits

If you hoped to combine a Franschhoek fine-dining dog meal at Vrede en Lust’s Savoye, note that Savoye is closed to the public from 12 October 2026 to 16 May 2027. Lust Bistro remains the everyday meal path with a dog; it is not the same as claiming a Savoye dog menu.

Pairing menu stops with lawn days

Simon’s outdoor lunch then home to Constantia. Perdeberg Doggy Pairing then Rhebokskloof picnic lawns. Stanford Hills pet-menu terrace after an estate walk (avoid concert days). Lourensford market doggie bar on a weekend morning before the Helderberg heat builds.

Prices and dates to re-check

Perdeberg Doggy Pairing R25 (seen October 2026). Simon’s à la bark menu PDF dated October 2024 — ask whether prices on the PDF still apply. Stanford Hills pet menu and pet stay fee (R250 per pet (official, Oct 2024) for stays) are separate products; day terrace dining does not automatically include overnight.

FAQs

Does Perdeberg have a dog menu?

It lists a Doggy Pairing for R25 (treat + mineral water) on the tasting page — price seen October 2026; confirm before you visit.

Does Simon’s at Groot Constantia have a dog menu?

Yes — outdoor dining with water bowls and an à la bark dog menu PDF dated October 2024.

Why is this list so short?

Because few Western Cape wine farms publish dog menus or guaranteed water service. Padding with unverified bowls would mislead readers.

Can I ask for water where there is no menu?

Yes — politely. Bring your own bowl anyway so staff are not improvising with glassware.
