Farms with the most visitor information (opening hours, phone numbers, photos) are listed first.

Paarl is bigger and more agricultural than its southern neighbours. The town hugs Paarl Mountain; vineyards fan into Agter-Paarl, along the Berg River, onto the Simonsberg-Paarl foothills and toward Voor-Paardeberg. Heat is higher than Stellenbosch on many sites, which favours Shiraz, robust reds and ripe Chenin, though elevated and south-facing slopes stay fresher.

The district is a hinge between Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Wellington and the Swartland. Visitors often underestimate it because it is less packaged as a wine-route village, yet it holds historic estates, working cellars and some of the Cape's most interesting granite terroir. Wine of Origin Paarl can appear on labels from several distinct landscapes; the ward names are the way to tell them apart.

WineFarmz assigns farms to Paarl when their coordinates fall in the Drakenstein bowl outside the tighter Franschhoek and Wellington boxes.
